Our Purpose is to follow Jesus into a
season of: Knowing, Growing, and Going:
At Alliance Community Bible Church we believe that our primary purpose is to follow the
biblical command of Jesus Christ to “go and make disciples.” Knowing,
growing, and going is our own way of expressing our commitment to completing this
foundational task. Knowing means connecting with God in an intimate, personal,
family relationship through faith in Jesus Christ. Growing means being transformed by the power of
the Holy Spirit and through living out the Christian life in a community of fellow
believers. Going means breaking out of our
comfort zones to serve others and share the Gospel in our own community and around the
world. We are committed individually and corporately to spiritual transformation.
Achieving God’s purposes involves taking faith filled risks. This always
involves change. Knowing, growing, and going is our expression of understanding our faith
as a journey, not an end point, the process of a lifelong commitment to becoming
more like Jesus.
Our Passion is to raise up a new generation
to Go!
Every generation of Christ followers must pass the baton to the next generation or the
church will cease to exist. We believe God has uniquely placed us in a location and
time to significantly impact children and young people. Our dream is to reach,
equip, and raise up the youth of our community to follow Jesus Christ and to devote their
lives to going into all the world with the Gospel message.
About the Sneakers:
Our lives are made up of seasons. And each season
brings about something new and different. It’s like lacing up a new pair of
sneakers as you are about to start a new season of basketball. These clean, bright,
crisp shoes squeak as you jog onto the court. It is the sound of hope, the sound of
new chances, the sound of a new beginning. And that is exactly what God does in our
lives by giving us new seasons. God likes to see us change and grow. He
isn’t satisfied with us if we become comfortable and complacent. He wants to
make sure we embrace each season of our lives with the anticipation of entering onto the
court with new sneakers: hopeful, excited, ready to see where God leads! See,
I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making
a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland. (Isaiah 43:19)
